There is something cathartic about taking photos with actual film, and developing it in a dark room. Some sense of ownership, like each picture was thought about and deliberate and had purpose, that you don't get with quick digital photography. If I had the time, money and equipment I would love nothing more than to do this all day.

Poor little guy didn't stand a chance. He had to be put down 6 days after I brought him home. He was amazing. So loving, so innocent, even attempted purring towards the end even though it visibly hurt him. He contracted Panleukopenia from the shelter before he could be vaccinated against it. Here is a picture of him enjoying the sun. I miss u Carl <3

Finally! Something I designed actually made it to stores! I was walking through Walmart, and I caught a glimpse of my baby! They totally went cheap on the printing. It was supposed to be printed on matte film with a spot varnish on the chocolate drip part and the chocolates on the bottom right. But "in THIS economy" *so sick of hearing that* I guess they just went for the cheap stuff. Still cool to see though!

This was when I had the sinus infection that made my cheek swell up about a year ago. But then it turned out there was a faulty cavity that was spreading an infection throughout my face bones (medical terminology). Note the bulbous 'Marlon Brando'esque cheek. sexy.

Blog Type Thing

So I was going to use this site as a portfolio... but now I'm thinking I will use it as a thoughts, work, and inspiration blog. It's more interesting than just a portfolio. And I think it will show who I am a little better.

So today I am snowed in... again. Trying to muster up any motivation what-so-ever, but only resulting in trips to the fridge, and then right back to the couch. Getting my fill of Animal Cops and anything on HGTV. Matt is sleeping next to me, trying to hibernate through a hangover. My print making class starts this Saturday at Tyler. It's always bitter sweet going back to school for anything. I'm pumped to be learning something new, but I am also a lazy S.O.B. But I am forced to wake up on Saturday mornings for the next 8 weeks and trek it over to Temple and learn.
New job starts next Wednesday... very very excited to be working again. After this 2.5 month hiatus, I am ready... I think. Much more formal than I am used to. Have to dress business casual. I have to dig out my old church clothes and make sure I don't look like 'fat guy in a little coat' in them. And no more truck driver mouth, no cussin and foul mouthed sarcasm. I think I can figure that out.
Anywho, there's a glass-blowing special on HGTV thats calling my name. So I will try to blog every day if possible. But we'll see how that goes. I've never filled a diary with more than 3 pages of writing before losing momentum....

And, anyone that can pray for my mom.. please do. Thanks! <3
